SimFic is a narrative fiction simulation engine that lets you describe a world/story, step into it, and be the main character! Unlike simply talking with a standard AI chatbot like ChatGPT, SimFic is custom designed for realistic simulation. The environment is active, not reactive, the world and NPCs have their own agenda, pacing is dynamically managed by a Director, and you work with the World Architect to scheme out your adventure before stepping in.

Concretely, here's why SimFic works far better than any generic AI chatbot:

• Persistent and reactive world: every choice makes a mark. The world state remembers your actions, the narrative adapts accordingly at the discretion of an omniscient Director, creating a truly unique path every time you play.
• Dynamic world generation: Nothing is static or hardcoded, ever. Environments, characters (NPCs), etc. are all generated procedurally and on demand to suit the context and current world state and progression. Opening the same physical door may reveal two very different rooms depending on whether you're in a calm state, or running for your life. Think of it like "schrodinger's map" -- unexplored parts of the world don't exist until you observe them.
• Realistic, independent NPC agents: each NPC is a separate, isolated LLM running with realistic observational limits. Information asymmetric and Theory of Mind fidelity are preserved, unlike a linear chatbot like ChatGPT that is inherently omniscient. Furthermore, each character has its own limits, trust levels, beliefs, agenda, and quirks. You can misread an NPC; an NPC can misread you. You can try to deceive an NPC, and the NPC could deceive you. Or you can work together with your team or a companion. Complete freedom with realistic simulation. No ChatGPT "happy paths" or "quick resolutions".
• True randomness: if you try something that has a chance to fail, SimFic does a real random number generation and compare it to an LLM-given expected probability of success. Stories can be truly unpredictable, just like in real life. ChatGPT's idea of random is always giving you the number 42.
• No resets or safety nets: you cannot rollback. You cannot edit past message. Your actions are permanent, as they would be in real life. Injuries can accumulate, slow you down, companions can be permanently lost, and irreversible consequences can happen. It's a high-stakes, no-holding-back experience.
