Digital products look easy to sell until you try delivering them. Broken links, missing emails and files shared everywhere eat your week, and most of it happens after the sale.
So we've been building Paydrop, an app that handles delivery for Shopify stores, so sellers can focus on the product instead of the plumbing.
The biggest lesson so far: keep delivery boring. Buyers want the file fast, no hoops. Every extra login, expired link or confusing email adds a support ticket, and anything that slows a buyer down costs more in refunds than it saves in protection.
Right now I'm testing the digital downloads flow end to end on mobile, from checkout to download, since that's where most things break. Small details matter a lot, like how fast the email lands and whether the link works on the first tap.
Next up is polishing the buyer side and making setup easier for sellers who are not technical. Most store owners just want it to work without a manual.
One thing I keep coming back to is trust. A buyer who gets their file in seconds trusts the store, and a trusted store gets repeat customers. That matters more than any clever feature.
If you sell digital products on Shopify, what annoys you most about delivery? Lost links, shared files? That's shaping what I build next. Drop your answers in the comments, I read all of them.
