Building Two Tech Startups With Almost No Budget — My Journey as a Solo Founder

I’m building AI Tool Atlas and Tech Gear Atlas with almost no budget. From 200+ AI tools and my own AI assistant to international partnerships and conversations with independent developers, here’s what I’ve learned while preparing for launch.

Building Two Tech Startups With Almost No Budget — My Journey as a Solo Founder

Building Something From Nothing

A few months ago, I had a simple idea: what if I could build my own technology platform without a team, investors, or a serious budget?

I didn’t know exactly where this journey would take me.

Today, I’m working on two separate projects, talking with people from different countries, and learning something new almost every day.

And I’m doing most of it from my iPhone.

I wanted to share what this journey actually looks like, beyond the polished screenshots and successful launch announcements.

Project One: AI Tool Atlas

My first project is AI Tool Atlas, a platform designed to help people discover and compare artificial intelligence tools.

The platform currently includes:

  • A directory of more than 200 AI tools

  • Search, categories, and comparison features

  • An AI assistant called ATLO

  • English and Russian language support

  • Mobile and desktop interfaces

  • A growing collection of potential affiliate partnerships

My goal is simple: make discovering useful AI tools easier for everyone.

But building the platform has been only part of the challenge.

I’ve also been working on performance, mobile usability, SEO, voice interactions, and fixing unexpected technical issues.

Sometimes the smallest bugs turn out to be the most frustrating ones.

Project Two: Tech Gear Atlas

While working on AI Tool Atlas, I decided to start a second platform focused on another area I really enjoy: gaming and technology.

That’s how Tech Gear Atlas started.

It’s a technology website covering gaming, smartphones, computer hardware, gadgets, and buying guides.

The idea is to build a useful resource for people who enjoy exploring new technology and gaming products.

The project is still under development, and I’m continuing to improve its design, content, and technical foundation.

The Biggest Challenge: Building Without Funding

One thing I’ve learned is that creating a product without a budget forces you to think differently.

You can’t simply pay someone to solve every problem.

You have to learn, experiment, make mistakes, and find creative solutions.

I’m using free development tools and infrastructure wherever possible.

I’m also handling design, development, testing, communication, marketing, and partnership outreach.

Some days I make significant progress.

Other days I spend hours trying to fix one issue.

That’s the reality of building independently.

International Connections Are Changing My Perspective

Something interesting has started happening recently.

I’ve begun communicating with potential partners and technology companies from different countries, including the United States, China, and Russia.

We’re discussing affiliate programs, mutual promotion, product discovery, and possible long-term cooperation.

I’m also currently in conversations with two independent developers about potential collaboration.

We haven’t finalized any arrangements, but I’m optimistic about the possibilities.

Their experience could help us improve the projects and move toward launch more efficiently.

For me, one of the most valuable things about this journey has been connecting with people who have different experiences, ideas, and perspectives.

I’m learning that building a business isn’t only about developing a product.

It’s also about building relationships.

Preparing for October 26

My current target is to launch AI Tool Atlas publicly on October 26, 2026.

I’m focusing on resolving technical issues, improving performance, and making sure the platform is ready for real visitors.

Tech Gear Atlas is developing alongside it, although I’m not setting a firm public launch date for the second project yet.

I’m not expecting everything to be perfect from day one.

I expect feedback, bugs, and plenty of opportunities to improve.

And that’s part of the process.

I’d rather launch something useful, listen to people, and continue making it better than spend forever waiting for perfection.

Why I’m Sharing This

I know there are many developers and founders here building their own projects.

Some have teams and funding.

Others, like me, are starting with almost nothing.

I want to connect with people from both groups.

I’m open to exchanging experience, discussing ideas, exploring partnerships, and helping promote interesting products.

I’m particularly interested in meeting independent developers, AI startups, technology companies, and people working on gaming-related projects.

I believe good collaborations can start with something as simple as a conversation.

A Question for the Community

If you’re building your own startup or independent project, I’d love to hear your story.

What’s been your biggest challenge so far: development, finding users, marketing, funding, or something else?

And if you’re interested in AI tools, gaming, technology, or potential collaboration, feel free to reach out.

I’m always happy to meet new people.

Thanks for reading and being part of this journey!
