FounderUpdate is a focused AI writing tool for monthly investor updates. It helps seed, pre-seed, and Series A founders turn five key metrics and ten bullet points into a polished investor update in about five minutes, then export it as ready-to-send HTML, clean Markdown, or a board-ready PDF. Built for founders who know the monthly update matters and want to stop dreading it.

The problem

Most founders lose one to two hours a week to investor communication. The blank page is the hardest part. Once a template gets chosen, the format repeats every month: short opener, metrics snapshot, progress update, hires, asks, closing. What founders actually want is a tool that knows the format, takes the raw material, and writes in their own voice.

How it works

Setup happens once. You fill in your company profile (name, stage, tagline) and optionally drop in one or two past updates. The model reads those past updates, extracts your voice (sentence length, cadence, preferred phrasing), and uses them as a tone reference on every future generation.

Each month, the workflow takes about five minutes. Paste three to seven key metrics with current and previous values (MRR, users, runway, burn, whatever you track). Add five to fifteen bullet points covering wins, lowlights, hires, product ships, and asks. FounderUpdate drafts the update in a consistent structure: opener, metrics snapshot, progress, asks, team and hires, closing. You review, edit if needed, and hit copy. Then paste into Gmail, BCC your investors, and send from your own inbox so the relationship stays yours.

The tone lock

The tone lock is the differentiator. Without it, AI drafts read generic and founders end up rewriting most of the output. With one or two past updates as reference, the model produces output that reads like you wrote it on a good day. Save hours every month instead of staring at a blank page.
